Beyond the northern reaches of Los Angeles county lies the great ranching community of Fillmore where growers have been quietly raising oranges for generations. Each year as the summer falls into autumn the Slolee ranch celebrates the coming harvest with a sacred gala; family and friends gather illuminating the night with food, drink and laughter.

Tap. Pours hazy golden, small white head, decent lacing. Aroma is coriander, citrus zest, grass. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter. Orange, coriander, wheat. Light body. So so.

Bottle from Fresh and Easy in Napa, CA. Pours translucent gold with a slight, foamy white head. Aroma is orange. Med body with rather strong carbonation. Flavor is orange, maybe even zest, and wheaty. Not very malty. It’s drier than not, and it’s sort of a one note wit. Yet the orange is so strong that it works. Pool beer.
