Typical Flemish red-brown beer with a pleasant balance between complex fruitiness and refreshing acidity. This gem of brewing art owes its recognition as an "acknowledged local product" to the age-old production process. Beer from high mixed fermentation, carefully matured for 24 months on oak wood. Basic ingredients: barley malt, caramel malt, annual Poperinge hops and pure water. The spontaneous but extremely complex microbiology inside the oak barrels results in an extremely soft, sour beer, ready to be fortified with a young, high-fermented beer.
