Hobsons Twisted Spire is a beer with all round appeal. It's a quenching low gravity beer with a nice bitterness in flavour and refreshing bursts of hop flavour which lingers through to a crisp dry finish.

Twisted Spire is brewed with Hersbruker, Fuggles and First Gold hop varieties and Maris Otter malting barley. The vibrant blond beer appeals to the palates of both the practised ale drinker and potential lager convert.

The beer's name was inspired by the curious and rare twisted spire church of St Mary the Virgin in the heart of Cleobury Mortimer, home to Hobsons.

Bottle notes - Twisted Spire is a carbonated beer, best served at 8°C .

(Cask at Dean Swift, Tower Bridge, London, 23 April 2016) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of peaches, bready malt and grass. Malty, fruity taste with soft malt, peaches, pineapple, grass, a touch of yeast and a gentle bitterness. Light body, with a touch of sweetness. Well balanced and tasty, but hardly inspiring. Quite enjoyable.

Light pale blonde, nice dense white head, some lacing
Aroma of soft sweet fruits, light pale malts, touch of cereal, clean
Taste of soft citrus, soft apricot, some cereal malt, gets a bit thin in flavour after a while, but quite good for the low abv
Palate - Light body, bit oily so not too thin, soft sweet, light cereal bitter, good palate for abv. Finish is quite rapid, clean, with a dab of citrus
Overall - Decent enough, was in good condition

How: Cask.
Where: GBBF 2014.
Appearance: Clear golden colour with a small white head.
Aroma: Wet overcooked vegetables.
Body: Medium body, flat carbonation.
Flavour: Just as bad as the aroma, some strange overcooked vegetable malt floral combination.
