At 4.3% abv Splendid is golden yellow in colour with a rich smooth full fruity palate includung tangy orange zest with cherry and elderflower notes plus a mellow after taste. The nose is delightfully hoppy and tempting.

Cask @ Patricks, Bangor. Clear gold with a small creamy head. Includes malts but with a more dominant dry floral character.

On tap @ the Cottage Loaf, Llandudno. A copper coloured ale with notes of apples and toffee and some malty backbone. More toffee-apple and malt on the taste. It’s average in weight and texture and the finish is reasonably clean. Overall, more solid than splendid.

On tap at the smithfield hotel. Thick white head. Hazy blond pour. Nice subtle bitterness.

Cask-conditioned at the Crown & Kettle, Manchester 10/06/09 as "This Splendid Ale". Gold in colour with a moderate white head. Citrus hop aroma and flavour, balanced by a touch of sweet malt, Finish was decently dry. Pretty good.

Cask @ GBBF 2007, London. Clear light amber orange color with a small, virtually none head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, hay straw. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is flat, finish is light metalic.

Cask@GBBF2007. Yellow colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is spices, hops and some yeast. Flavour is really yeasty with some papery and popcorny hints. Aftertaste is fruity and quite wooden.
