Can with 7.8%. Floral fresh nose. The beer starts fruity with hints of grain in the back. Floral sweetish honey with nice herbs in the back. The heather honey is there, herbal dark with a grainy beer in mix. Moderate bitterness in the end, a bit too grainy in my eyes.

More like wee light. A bit dry, caramelly, sweet, mild. Meh.

Keg at Brewdog Camden. Dark brown, almost black, with small golden bubbly head. Aroma is slightly smoky, burnt sugar, roasty malt and a bit of spice. Taste is dominated by black treacle, sweetness, bit of dark chocolate, malty. Quite full on. Quite nice, but not that special.

Keg at BrewDog Leicester. Dark brown/black with small creamy tan head. Slightly smoky malt with golden syrup the faintest touch of whisky. Man, the taste is sweet. Buttered pancakes with a bit of coffee, syrup and chocolate malt. Earthy malt and a sour tinge in the aftertaste. A great Scotch ale.

At brewdog Brussels. Pours black. Aroma is toasted malts, booze, sugar syrup. Body is heavy, quite sweet and boozy, yet not as strong as other Scotch ales. Good acidity, far tamer through that. Still dominant flavours. Great to drink!

Keg at BrewDog Bristol. Very dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma and taste are malt-heavy, dark fruits, caramel, treacle, a little honey, roast, chocolate, very rich, quite sweet but not cloying. Medium-full bodied, smooth, low carbonation. Very nice.

Bottle from BrewDog online Relatively empty on nose. There's no chance to note all the malts and if there are really ten then it goes surprisingly smooth. Tastes light smoked, roasted malts, still smooth. Good.

Black beer, thick brown head. Dry, bitter malt smell. Taste is toasty malt, dried fruit, honey, coffee. It's creamy but with a hint of fizz on the tongue. I thought it'd pack a bit more punch but it's actually pretty mellow. Rich and tasty all the same.

Creamy beige head stayed on a jet black still body. Malt, demerara & berry aroma. Medium to full bodied, creamy in the mouth and a tingly finish. Malty tastes with fruity berry, grape, sour stone fruit & citrus hints.
