Brewed with our friends at Vocation, East & West Pale Ale celebrates our partnership across two sides of the globe to launch Gweilo in the UK.

The soft, hazy base is dry hopped with Galaxy and Vic’s Secret, imparting notes of ripe papaya, guava and pineapple, leading into a dank flavour profile on the finish. This beer is the first of many exciting new brews!

Can from Morrisons. Cloudy gold with small white head. Aroma of sweet caramel to bready malts and orange citrus pith. Taste is bready and orange citrus with some tropical mango, moderate bitterness. Medium bodied. Its a good if predictable craft pale ale.

Can from Beers of Europe. Pours hazy yellow gold with a thick white head. Aromas of tropical fruit, papaya, citrus. Taste has melon rind, papaya, faint pineapple. Tropical fruit finish.

Hazy deep straw with a bubbly white head and a soft sherbet lemon and tropical fruit aroma. Lovely soft mouthfeel to begin with, it’s delicately fruity before a little kick of mellow bitterness bursts through with some moderate carbonation

440ml can from Vocation. Poured a hazy golden colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is grainy malt, tropical citrus fruits, dank hops. The flavour is moderate bitter and sweet, with a fresh, crisp, piney, juicy mango, light tart pineapple, light floral, dry hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation. Tasty.

Can 44 cl. Pours a cloudy golden with a white head. Lovely complex aroma of citrus and tropical fruits. Fairly light in body, the usual chalky/yeasty notes for the style and a dry fruitiness, with great aroma hops but very little bitterness. Solid. 040122

Keg draught at the Boar & Fable, Bradford. Light golden and hazy with a small white head and a fair bit of lacing. Sumptuous creamy tropical fruit aroma: pineapple, mango and melon. Sweet taste with iced tutti-frutti sherbet and a bitterness at the finish. Full, sliky body, medium to heavy carbonation. A winner.

Can form Mozzas Inverurie. It pours lightly hazy golden - orange with a frothy white head. The aroma is soft, sweet tropical fruits, papaya, mango, passion fruit, peach, touch green, grassy and fruit cocktail. The taste is crisp, dry, light bitterness, pine, touch of green hops, tropical vibes, tropical vibes, fruit salad sweets, tangerine, papaya, passion fruit, minerality, floury bread and a touch of spice with a drying finish. Average body and carbonation. Decent enough fruity pale ale.

Panda at home, thanks to Fergus, 27/10/21. Lightly hazed golden orange with a good sized off white head. Nose is soft malts, melon, tangerine, papaya, mango splash. Taste comprises melon, orange zest, grass, faint pine, tangerine, light breads. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close splashed with mellow hop bitterness. Passable pale.

Can at home from Morrisons. A light hazed yellow straw coloured pour with a fine white head. Aroma is earthy grains, straw, grass, pinch of salt, some sileage, grainy, Flavour is composed of semi sweet, earthy grains, grass, corn, nutty malts, grassy citrus. Little earthy dank notes , pinch of salt. Palate is semi sweet, grainy, tannin, hishish carbonation. Fine. Little rough round the edges.
