Well stored bottle. Unclear amber body under a medium sized tan head. Nice, strong aroma with plenty of malt and dry fruit, also caramel, and warming alcohol. Taste is very sweet, still in balance with caramel malt, toffee, bread, dry fruit, candy sugar, vinous warming alcohol and some bitterness. Fine balanced body and long lasting, ripe and warming aftertaste. A really nice barley wine that deserves some storage to bring on the rich taste and complexity.

Small head, gone in seconds over muddy amber-brown beer, well-carbonated. Sweet nose, with raisins, other dried fruit as peach, apricot; fusels, banana. More of the same - the flavours here enhanced and sweetened by the alcohol and fusels. Overripe banana, if more subtle. Well bodied, rich and voluptuous feel, burning, alcoholwarmth. Good! A quadrupel from Norway, who would have imagined that 20 years ago! Txs to Joren for bringing!

Can 330ml @ gunnfryd
Pours hazy brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, dried fruits and bread. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long dried fruity, caramel and bread finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carboantion is soft.

Bottle. It pours a clear amber colored body under an off-white head. Caramel, dried fruits, bready malts, some alcohol and dusty, woody hint in the aroma. It's full-bodied, warming and smooth on the palate, with flavors of caramel, dark dried fruits and some alcohol. Some sweetness and a light fruity sourness. Long fruity, caramel-sweet finish with alcohol and dried fruits. Nice, but perhaps lacking a bit on complexity. 200912

33cl bottle from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours a wonderful brilliant brown, with nice reflections. Aroma is rich, inebriating: very malty, caramel, molasses, figs, wood. Body is actually average, with moderate carbonation. Taste is definitely sweet, markedly sweet, with a nice toasted feeling. Final is pretty long, fairly intense with maltiness.
