On tap at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours a murky pale orange with minimal scummy off-white head and good lacing. The aroma is mainly floral hops plus traces of citrus and grapefruit. In the mouth it is slightly sweet but with a little underlying bitterness, with citrus and grapefruit prominent in the flavour. After a while some sharpness can be detected along with mango and hints of melon and alcoholic strength. Finish is quite dry and a little boozy. This is an interesting beer which hides its strength well – but not really my type.

Can. A hazy and slightly dirty looking gold beer, small and short lived pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Soft creamy malts, quite sweet. Soft cooling pine into good rich but fairly ripe citrus, tangy ripe grapefruit. Soft ripe orange and tangerine. A modest amount of peel bitterness offsets the sweetness of this dipa. Finishes smooth and slightly tangy. A rich enough dipa but after 4 excellent District 96 DIPAs this is a much lesser affair.

Taste comprises orange pith, ripe mango flesh, weed, pine, hop spice, ripe tropicana, soft malts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with danko come lightly aggressive juicy hop bitterness. Solid DIPA ... good bitter edge.

*Despite the same name, please note that Pentrich have upped the abv to 8% now described it as an Imperial IPA and also changed the recipe (one of the hops has changed) Can picked up from Hoptimism website Loughborough Leicestershire UK and consumed at home Wednesday 25th November 2020 listening to Steve Lamaqs Evening Session on 6Music and having a Sausage Pot/Casserole. Pours murky hazy yellowy colour with a white head, quite orangey in the mouth, a touch of perfume, soft and creamy mouthfeel, juicy, really juicy. This is lovely, fuzzy bitterness, intense hoppiness, sweet orange and lemon. Great.
