Old rating from 2001 - Pint from the tap at the brewpub, because it was in Michael Jackson's beer guide. It pours bright yellow with a white foamy head. Aromas & tastes of banana, clove, lemon, flora, wood, hints of acidic & yeast. Medium body. Crisp dry finish

Bottle from BiervanEijk, Frederiksoord. More citrus than the expected banana in the aroma. Also picking up soft bready wheat, grassy notes, yeast. Flavour is light to moderate sweet with low bitterness. Medium body. More Wheat Beer than Hefeweizen, it's okay.

September 2007: 500 ml bottle, bought at Real Foods, Edinburgh. ABV is 5.0%. Like all Pinkus Müller beers, it is organic. Cloudy pale yellow colour, huge white head. Strong and typical hefeweizen aroma, spicy notes of cloves and banana, hints of farmhouse and oak. Soft mouthfeel. Wheaty flavour, subdued cloves and banana, moderate sweetness. Another good hefeweizen, but not the very best.

Bottle from Raynville Superstore. It pours hazy yellow - buttermilk with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is toasty grain, hay, straw, green banana, melon, banana split, warming spice, clove, wheat bread and apricot jam. The taste is crispy, dry, snappy, quite firm, floury bread, wheat crackers, fragrant, floral, daisies, green banana, grass, twist of citrus, lemon rind, tangy vibes and just a touch of spice with a dry finish. Average body, moderate carbonation and velvety, fluffy mouth feel. Firm and dry. Quenching. Works well.
