An English Ale with a distinctive flavour of dark toffee and caramel combined with a crisp bitterness derived from using rare Bramling Cross hops. Tropical and berry fruits from the mix of hops, in particular the rare Bramling Cross which adds black and redcurrants. Challenger in the boiling copper gives robust bitterness and this is balanced by the sweetness from the pale and crystal malts. (Bottle 4.7%)

En av mina favoriter av engelska ales. Doft: knรคck och blommor Smak: Blommig och fruktig, besk marmelad, karamell, mineraler, ganska stram och besk fรถr stilen. Jag minns den som lite smakrikare och fruktigare, men fortfarande riktigt god.

0.5l bottle. This one pours a clear dark amber body with a small slowly fading off-white head. Aroma is quite subtle. Hints of caramel, some bitter hops and perhaps even a little fruity. Average carbonation, medium to light-bodied and it has a mild oily mouthfeel. Flavors are quite bitter with some burned caramel, toffee and it has a long lasting grassy-bitter aftertaste. Mnaah, drinkable but easily forgettable.

Well the clear glass worries me a bit. Pours a fairly clear deep amber color with a stingy white head that dissipates quickly to a ring. The initial aroma coming out of the first pour were skunky, luckily as the glass sat it subsided. Smells of butterscotch, caramel and toffee very sweet smelling with a little earthy mineral bitterness. Taste follows the smell fairly well, but the skunk came back. Sweet and malty with an earthy mineral edge. Moderate carbonation, medium body with a sweet bubbly mineral water mouthfeel. The mercaptan killed this one for me. Not a bad brew, but probably not something I would seek out again.

500ml bottle. Pours amber with a small head that went quick. Aroma is skunky and toffee malt. Taste is toffee to start, skunky hop finish. Bit thin in the mouth. Stupid clear bottles.

Bottle from Half Time. Pours clear copper with a foamy off-white head. Aromas of mild caramel and floral hops. Medium body with very mild carbonation. Flavor is caramel and floral hop. It develops that little rear of the tongue malty thing and then finishes very well balanced. It is so English. Oh. Yeah. Great stuff.

Pours a copper-amber colour with a nice head. This one is foamy at first, but the top changes creamy a few seconds after the pour. Steady retention and bubbles form around the glass. Good strong aromas of molasse, maple syrup and hop. Taste is nice and powerful. Some fruit mixed in with some caramel. The bold bitterness of the hop kicks in a notch more in the finish and smooth out in the aftertaste. The mouthfeel is creamy. A great bitter ale.

Skunked caramel and cherry nose. Clear amber, thin yellowish head. Hay, dried leaves, and toffee flavor, relatively harsh mouthfeel for the style. Probably not the freshest sample, but still tasty.
