Backlog 24/12/2020; Best before 12/2021, Lot 20/05/05, 500ml bottle bought at Za Popen’t online shop (Ljubljana, Slovenia)
APPEARANCE: straw, yellow-ish, lemonade like color, lightly hazy with off white compact head, good lacing; pear juice like color with the sediment
AROMA: fairly noticeable bready malt backbone, light fruity esters and sweetness of pear, mandarins, mild citrusy freshness underneath with notes of lemon, lime, lemon grass, faint hint of grounded ginger, hints of herbs, plastic and vegetables like dry nettles and parsley root
TASTE: medium carbonation with a few sharp bubbles, medium light body, a bit thin on the edges, crisp & citrusy feel; light sweet fruity onset with tropical hints (lychee, mandarin) and more citrus driven notes - lime/lemon candy, subtle stone fruits; subtle notes of lipstick and minerals; quite herbal bitter bite (wormwood), grapefruit zest, light weed/dankness, hints of pine and greens/grass; dry finish with lingering bitterness
OVERALL: very easy going experimental IPA, slightly restrained on the nose and palate with light flaws (vegetables and lipstick); I was expecting a bit more from Lallemand Verdant yeast and New Zealand experimental hops to be honest;
