October 2017: 500 ml clear bottle, from a Sainsbury Local in Whitton, London. ABV is 4.5%. Copper colour, large white head. Typical Shepherd Neame aroma of lightstruck hops, not unpleasant though. Also toffee notes. The flavour has also toffee notes, but is not very sweet. Hints of citrus. Moderate hops. Nice enough to drink.

Appearance is clear amber, with a 1-finger fizzy beige head. Aroma is caramel, citrus fruit hints, English hops, raisin and biscuit traces. Taste is malt, hop bitterness, earthy hops, juicy hops. Short and slightly bitter finish.

Gift from my parents. It's a faux brewery tick at least. Malty aroma with a touch of spice and caramel. Amber. Creamy off-white head thins out. Light-medium sweet with a hint of bitterness. Or is it the other way around? Malts to the fore. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Fizzy carbonation. Dry slightly astringent finish. Nice enough. Slips down well enough.

Looks like a whiskey bottle. Decent taste though

Bottle at home picked up from Watford Sainsbury’s. A very clear copper coloured pour with a lasting off white head. Aroma is big harsh skunky grassy hop, onion, sileage, fermented grass, hint of brown bread. Flavour is composed of nutty mlats, iron, blood, rusty penny, nutty twiggy malts. Little chalky in the finish. Palate is semi sweet, thin, highish chalky carbonation. Not very good.

Clear, golden-copper colored, medium white frothy head, good lasting. Aroma is weak, bit metallic, some biscuit and fruit, grassy. Taste is medium- sweet malt and biscuit, some fruity and grassy notes, light+ bitterness, dry finish, again some metallic notes. Medium to light bodied, soft carbonation, watery.

Bottle. Appearance - amber with a nice fluffy head. Nose - caramel and biscuits. Light orange. Taste - more of the same. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - a solid citizen.
