A very dark brown beer with a beige head. Aroma of dark caramelized malt, raspberries, sour fruits. Taste of dry roasted dark malt, toffee, coffee beans, herbs, high carbonation.

Bottle from Beers of Europe, online. Pours black with massive beige head which took 10 minutes to settle. Aroma is very roasty with dark chocolate, coffee, caramel and a hint of sweetness. A high frothy carbonation. Flavour has roasted malts, a tangy yeast and sweetness, sourness, some dark chocolate. Not too keen. Don't think this is in the best condition.

On cask at 8 Sail Heckington - jet black body with a short tan head. Real pungent roasted taste, notes of coffee, nuts and liquorice.

Bottle from Mark. Pour is normal for the style. Aroma is roadty, but hints at some out of place sweetness. Sure enough, the taste comes in sugary sweet, like a cola. Sticky, dry bitterness lingers.

1/12/2018. Bottle from 8 Sail Brewery Shop and shared at the 1st Kesgrave 50/50 bottle share. Pours clear dark brown with a large beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and dark fruit. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness and a light sour edge. Moderate body, slight oily texture, above average carbonation. Dry finish, quite traditional, though too fizzy and with a slightly fishy finish.
