Very dark mild brewed with addition of chocolate and black malt. In keeping with the beer style, hops don't feature in the flavour profile of this beer as much as with other Great Heck beers but it's no shrinking violet. Beautiful chocolatey, roasty flavours dominate this classic dark mild.

Tried at the Nottingham beer festival 2015. Black colour with a tan head. Big aromas for a mild, chocolate, roasted malt and fruit. Taste follows this with a smooth body.

Cask at the Euston Tap - London. Note, after a full day of boozin’ in Birmingham. Pours black-brown with a foamy beige head. Good beer, with some dry cocoa, dark fruits. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Light earthy bitterness on the finish, some burnt wood, chocolate. Tasty mild.

Cask at the Post Office Valults, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown with a reddish hue and a bubbly off white head. The aroma is dry roasted malt. The flavour is light bitter with a dry mineral earthy light sweet malt palate. Light bodied witn soft carbonation. One of the better milds I’ve had. Lots of flavour but a touch lighter than I would have liked.

Cask @ Engineers Arms, Henlow. Dark chocolate brown. Scent of bitter roast espresso, single estate dark chocolate. Sweet taste of cherries and coffee gives way to a more muted finish. A fuller mouthfeel than most mid-strength milds. A simple but well-presented beer. Jimi would be proud.
