Always feel blessed to obtain a new Belgian style beer, no matter who it comes from. This time it was Belgian Happiness, well done. A 33 cl bottle that is now opened and being poured into my Chimay glass. I see a light caramel-colored liquid, think La Trappe's quad, with a thin head of steadily replenished, foamy tan bubbles. It has an inspiring scent, candied figs, booze, honey and grain. The taste, oh my, is only an improvement on the nose. I get quite a start of sweet fruit cake with yellow raisins, dates, bourbon, ribbon candy, nectarines and wheat bread. Little evidence to me of the alcohol but we shall see as the bottle warms up. A fine representation of my favorite style.
