Probably a 2004 bottle at Julio’s Spring Beer Fest, 4/02/05. Had this immediately following the gold. Lightly spicy, a bit dusty, dry nose with a bit of toast, dry fruits, appleskins and a touch of caramel sugar. Flavor is sweeter than the gold, not surprisingly, with a good deal more candi sugar apparency and some yeast dryness on the end. Orange peel, a touch of orange creme and light caramel and nuttiness. Medium body, though not anything strikingly fuller than the gold, maybe a bit more sugar to create a bigger effect. Orange body, with some faint auburn tints and an off-white head, very ligth haziness.

Amber color; creamy head. Simple aroma, some malt taste, quite strong but nothing special.

Bottled (BB 10/2005)
Hazy dark amber, no head - looks like sahti. Aroma has brown sugar, rye, hops, spices, a bit odd and chemical. Mouthfeel is flat - low carbonation. Hoppied, sour. Harsh in the finish, English bitter-like flavor. Dry malt character. Unbalanced and not very delicious.

Pours a cloudy amber. Very hoppy citrus aroma. Flavor is a very tart, fruity, hoppy flavor. There is alot going on in this brew I can’t pick up. There is flavor but of what else? Not bad and not good all the same.

Bottled, thanks Bov!
Amber colour, creamy head. Herbal spicy, yeasty nose. Sweet and fruity with some citric acidity. Simple, mellow mouthfeel. Un-stylish.

Hazy, amber body. Off-white, creamy head. Good lace and fairly good lasting head. Hoppy aroma. Moderately bitter initial flavour. Moderately bitter, lightly acidic finish.

Hazy red beer, pleasant aroma of curacao, confectionnaries sugars, and yeast. Sweet malt with light apples, spices, oranges, hops, and warm alcohol in the end. Nice body complements the alcohol level well, with a nice rounded mouthfeel but metallic near the end. Much better than gold.

The aroma is pretty yeasty with notes of fruit and corriander. The color is an unclar red (no wonder it is called red) and it has a beutiful beige head. The flavor is yeasty with strong notes of corriander and light notes of fruit and cowberries. It runs prickling over Your tongue - is it the alcohol? It ends on a dry slightly prickling note. The mouthfeel is somewhat thin - especially compared to the ABV. It is not that complex a beer - I had expected more - but it still has a nice taste.

Clear amber color, small head. Smells amber malty, like Koninck or Palm, bit sweet. Sweet malty beer, but very thin. Doesn't taste like a Belgian Strong Ale, though it is 8%. I wouldn't know why i should order this beer again...
