Sample, thanks Grumbo. Pitch black, tiny beige head, not much to speak of. Great dessert nose, lots of maple syrup, some wood (oak) and chocolate, cocoa. Medium sweet start, some blackcurrant, soem roasted presence: Chocolate, vanilla, some alcohol. Nice and warming. Fuller body. Dessert stout as it should be.

27/12/2021. Can with ITFCfan & ITFCDan at the post-Christmas blues share. From Craft Metropolis, Penge. Pours black with a small frothy beige head. Aroma is maple, pancake, coffee, malt, caramel, berries. Medium plus sweetness, moderate roasted bitterness. Full body, slight creamy texture, soft carbonation. Good, though not my favourite in the series.

Can from RAD. Appearance - jet black with a lovely fawn head. A general gloopiness of crude oil. Nose - pancakes and burnt butter. Maple syrup, of course. Molasses and light smoke. Taste - maplesyrup pancakes again. Burnt sugar and molasses again. Palate - full bodied, rich and persistent. Overall - luscious.

Can. Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Smooth palate, soft and rich, decent fine carbonation. Soft but rich dark malts, excellent dark chocolate fudge. Quite a spicy undertone, feels like punchy cinnamon towards the finish. Maple ripe fruitiness is NOT subtle. Goes very well with the dark chocolate fudge. Yeah, a little pastry sweetness. More cinnamon oriented spice on the smooth finish. Massive fan of this series, and this one does not disappoint. Perhaps a little too much spicy something slightly undermining the pumchy maple choccy fudge. But still, outstanding pastry.

Panda thanks to Colin. A oily mahogany brown coloured pour with a loose dark tan head. Aroma is massive maple syrup, singed pancake, smoke, brown sugars, Flavour is composed of medium sweet, sticky brown sugars, smoke, maple syrup. Lingering harsh roasty notes. Palate is sticky sweet, oily, moderate carbonation. Good fun, but i think they burnt the pancakes.

Can at home, from HOTM online, 23/12/20. Pitch black with a well presented lasting tan cap. Nose is chocolate, light spice, molasses, syrup, dates, brown sugar melt. Taste comprises maple pancakes, chocolate melt, molasses, very light smoke, roast malts, salted caramel, light coffee grinds, background shades of Tiramisu. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Another solid impy stout from the BPAVK series ... sweeter than I'd normally go for but balanced.
