Bottle: pours a clear gold with a thin white head; initially alochol seems too evident in the aroma, but this is slowly replaced by the mailt; taste is clean and refreshing, and lighter than I expected, with an elderflower fragrance and dryness. More elegant than I expected.

Bottle: Copper coloured, quickly diminishing off-white head; sweet malty and fruity (honey) aroma with faint traces of alcohol; sweetish-malty, a bit alcoholic flavour; shorter, dry bitter-malty finish with a trace of Brandy. Not bad, but pretty boring, because too much on the sweet side; nearly no hoppy counterpart to the malty body. 6/2/5/3/11. Re rate 2010: Not even better, the british equivalent to a polish Strong Lager........

Bottled (BB 05/2006)
Bronze brown, vanishing small head. Strong nose of English hops, wood and toffee, slightly skunked. Medium-bodied, slightly alcoholic, good hoppy bitterness but lacks character. Toffeeish finish.

Bottled. Orange colour, minor head. Strong fruitish aroma with some hoppy hints. Fruitish flavour with some cookie-like flavour coming along. A bit bitterish finish and aftertaste. Oily palate.

This beer has a sharp flowery aroma - maybe a bit skunky from the clear bottle. The color is orange and it has a beutiful dense beige head. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of fruit, flowers, and caramel, leading on to an OK bitter end with hints of the alcohol - quite simple for an ale. The simpleness lets the alcohol shine thru. Not a favorite of mine - but on the other hand not bad.

Nut brown. I found it too sweet and very bland, but then I've never liked any of Marston's products.
