Bitter, Citrusy, Hoppy – Large amounts of hops deliver an intense piney and citrusy aroma and flavour in a bitter, easy drinking Pale Ale 9366 is the number of miles from Portsmouth to Ayres Rock, which Portsmouth-born Henry travelled before becoming Premier of South Australia none other than five times, and had the accolade of having Ayers Rock named after him. Keg at the brewpub. Fruity aroma with a soda edge. Opaque amber. Thin creamy head just clings to the rim. Medium bitter. Some underlying citrus gives marmalade hints but overly quinine bitterness. Grainy. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Flat carbonation. Abrupt astringent finish. OK.

Third, cask, shared with Finn at Brewhouse & Kitchen. Misty amber-golden body under a filmy layer, rich lacing. Promising tropical fruity nose, mid-dry. Rather fresh fruity flavours, peaches and citrus. Hints of fruity bitterness to the ending. Pretty alright. (Southsea 23.10.2019).

15/7/2019. Draught at the Brewhouse & Kitchen, Southsea. Pours hazy pale golden orange with a small white head. Aroma of hops, malt, citrus, flowers, tropical fruits and pine. Moderate sweetness and bitterness. Medium body. Nice.
