Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of bluebetty. Dark brown with an orange hue and a lively beige head. Sweet roasty nose. Medium body, lively carbonation, heavy dark roast yet with an underlying raisiny sweetness. So ashes and tar. A little roasty malt bitterness. 260412

From a 330ml bottle on 4/5/2011. Pours pretty much black with a good tan head. Has a pleasant bready, roasty, fruity aroma. The taste is impressive - a lovely balance of roasted malt, dark chocolate and dark fruits, with a medium bitter finish. The texture is slightly creamy and the carbonation is spot on. An excellent, beautifully balanced Aussie stout.

Bottle. Opaque black brown with slight beige head. Subtle but pleasant aroma of stout - dark roast malt, oatmeal. Huge velvety silky mouthfeel - the carbonation expands in the mouth - creamy. Taste is a disapointment: rather bland - some treacle / caramel notes, some dark chocolate. Overall, OK but not special.

Pours black, tiny tan head - not what others have seen apparently. Perhaps mine had been skulking around on the shelves a while. Not that it harmed the experience. Chocolate, coffee and oats aroma. Mild roasted coffee and cocoa. Not all that sweet. [7 2 7 4 16 3.6]Bottle. Big gusher - as was another I had recently. That and some very mild sour apple notes suggest infection, but mostly it just seems a tad overcarbonated. After a fair while the silky texture returns and the taste and balance are about the same.

Pitch black pour, good persistent tan head. Big rich malty aroma, with lots of milk chocolate, vanilla, roasted malt, bready, toasty and nutty notes.Roasted malt is big upon tasting, with hints of coffee, toast and bready malt.Thick rich body, creamy carbonation is slightly too lively.
