Amber colour and brilliantly bright. Light effervesce, but nevertheless nice lacing foam. Scent mildly sweet, with hints of caramel and a hoppy aroma. Easy to drink beer. The rather short aftertaste has a nice bitterness.

Bottle. A clear, dark golden beer topped by a small, off-white head. Some lacings. The aroma is fruity, sugary and lightly plagued by cooked vegetables. There’s a touch of bitterness in the flavor, with pale malts, some citrus peel and cooked vegetables. Medium body, sweetish and soft on the palate. Long fruity finish with some cooked vegetables and white sugar. Rather disappointing this one. Not that I was expecting much, but still. 150711

25cl, best before April 15. The beer starts sweetish-smooth. Slightly perfumed, hints of peach, slightly sweetish with an alcoholic touch. Hints of bitterness in the aftertaste, fresh, mild, yellow fruits. Not too deep, easy to drink.

Brewed in honour of the city of Ghent. Amberish orange, hazy, with off-white, fluffy head. Iron in the nose, peach, yeast, honey, estery taste with sourish accent, rather thin body, yeasty, bit metallic, moderately herbal bitterish finish but simple caramelly malt sweetness dominates and not much else happens. Drinkable and quenching, but otherwise an uninteresting, pretty bland interpretation of the Belgian amber ale style, which is already slowly becoming obsolete in general. This is something from a bygone era.

Clear medium amber colour, one finger frothy off-white head, disappears quickly, fair lacing. Aroma sweet malty, caramel, bit of raspberry, candy sugar. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty. Medium body, thin oily texture, soft carbonation, bit peppery on the tongue, sweetbitter aftertaste, light herbal touch, overall decent, nothing special.
