Saison Pomme is a deviation from our usual style. The name refers to the seasonal farmhouse ale brewed by farmers to quench the thirst of their seasonal workers during harvest. Historically saison underwent an extraordinarily long, slow fermentation fuelled by yeasts native to the farm.

Always dry & spicy with a (sometimes funky) yeasty character and a refreshing fruitiness; robust but quaffable, complex yet refreshing, naturally carbonated through fermentation in the bottle, & unfiltered.

Saison Pomme is every one of these things and most refreshing after a hard days toil. Made with apples from the orchards we foster in Devon and nothing else.

Tap at Vessel Beer Festival, Plymouth Nov 2019. Pour hazy gold with a white top. Aroma: apples, earthy, barnyard funk. Taste: light to moderate sweet, tangy apples, sherbet, light tannins with a good bash of funk. Medium body with spritzy carbonation. Very nice indeed

750ml bottle from the Fine Cider Company. Pre-chilled bottle, opened with a loud pop and thankfully stayed in the bottle! Hazy orange gold colour, white foam head that slowly reduces and aroma of funky apple, earthy, yeasty. Taste is sweetish, apple, leathery, tart, tangy, barnyard funk, tannin with some sherberty zesty citric acidic notes. Medium bodied, foamy carbonation, drying zingy citric finish. Nicely drinkable, definitely a fine cider in my book.
