The beer is made from a blend of East Anglian malted barley, Boadicea and First Gold hops and high grade malted wheat which is then filtered to allow the aromas and flavours within the beer to remain. Spindrift is top-fermented and it should be served chilled with a thick, continental-style head. (Contains barley & wheat).

Keg at the Blue Moon, Cambridge. Light to mid-gold. Not much head but there is some lacing. Grain with a bit of lemon and soap. A reasonable aroma, but not all that much better than a mediocre cask golden or a half-arsed ’craft’ pils. Taste is a refreshing bittersweet with a bit of savoury cereal in the finish. Too flat for my liking. Not good. Disappointed in Adnams, who do some cracking ales along with the odd pointless one.

Bottle. Pours clear golden with small white head. Dusty and spicy aroma with notes of hops and yeast. Bitter, hoppy flavour with dusty and malty notes and estery touches. Citric hints. Watery. Bitter aftertaste with sourish notes. Tolerable.
