Botled. Poured darkish orangey. Medium head. Some hops and other stuff. I couldn’t really tell a lot of difference cause the hops killled me. Not undrinkable.

This was poured into a pilsener glass.
The appearance was a nice looking clear bronzed amber color with a super nice looking three finger sustaining head that does end up dissipating at a decently slow rate. There is some light foamy lacing gracing the sides of the glass.
The smell has a nice authentic toasted caramel maltiness overtop of some super light bittering hops.
The taste was mainly sweet through the malts. I really didn’t get any sweetness from the hops. There’s a slight dry malty sweet finish. Don’t ask about the aftertaste, there isn’t any.
On the palate, this one sits about a light to medium in body with a fairly decent sessionable aspect rolling over my tongue. The carbonation is pretty light.
Overall, this is a decent Double/Imperial Pilsener. I’d seek others before this one as its not bad, its just not great.

I thot fer sure I had this before, been passing up on the shelves. Big alabaster head. Clear yellow pour from the atp at the bocktown. Smell is simply beer. IPA taste impact. HAH, thinks its a lager but its reall an ipa in disquise. Finish, eh, must be ipa. Finish, yes, typical ipa. Very funny, a lager that wants to be an ipa.

Bottle on Amtrak Train 27 - The Empire Builder ( from Binny’s South Loop) - 05/11/12. Clear golden with a thin off white head that retains well. Sweet caramel malt on the nose, sour tropical fruits, bitter hops. Tastes of caramel malt, popcorn, dark sugars, barley, grain, light citrus tones and a little sour grapefruit. Medium bodied with soft carbonation leading to a bitter finish.

Bottle @ Dan’s house. Clear, orange appearance with a small, cream colored head. Husky, grainy, big herbal, floral hoppy, a touch boozy aroma. Corn, strong grainy, herbal, lemon, somewhat boozy flavor. Alright.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange copper with small frothy white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is a raisin malt and honey. Medium mouthfeel with a bitter hop bite and bready malt with a lingering bitter finish. A good Imprrial pils from Coney Island.

A delightful looking beer when poured, this has a fair bit of grapefruit and lemon with wet dirt, bread dough, caramel and vanilla. I could sniff it all night, only I really need to drink it. It’s a slightly more standard IPA on the tongue, with loads of grapefruit and pine which give way gradually to pleasant vanilla and peach flavour. The tasting doesn’t quite live up to the smelling, but this is still a really pleasant IPA with more complexity - at least in the aroma - than a lot of beers in that category.
