Medium offwhite head. Amber body. Fruity floral wooden aroma with perfumy notes. Dry-sweet perfumy fruity orangey taste with floral wooden notes. Mild mouthfeel. Mid-bodied. Dry orangey raisiny aftertaste with papery strawy notes and some faint smoke. Interesting, subtle, full of flavour, and mildly unusual. (0.5l bottle, Sainsbury’s, London.)

Bottled - ofcourse. A hazy golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of citrusy hops and elderberries - not from a hop variety that I’m that fond of. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel as well as lighter notes of hops.

Has a nice perfumy smell of hops and some coriander or other spices it seems, almost a hint of a Belgian-style scent here. And looks quite appetizing with a nice foamy head, but could be thicker. Decent lighter gold colour. Yet it tastes quite watery, no strong flavours, and lacks some intense character. There’s a soft bitterness throughout, some barley notes, but needs to really be stronger for me to really appreciate it. Feels okay on the mouth, though. In general kind of disappointing, I was expecting something better and certainly with more character.

500ml bottle shared with friends on a sunny afternoon in the patio of The Cove, Covent Garden. Served lightly chilled. Orange-amber body, fading white head. Mildly smell of malt and fruits. Taste of apricot with spicy hints. Soft carbonated. Relatively pleasant thirst quencher, but little more (London, 03.08.2009).
