The Event Horizon Imperial Stout is an incredibly rich and luxurious beer brewed with ten malts, local honey, and four American hop varietals before and extended aging in oak bourbon barrels. The result is a beer with many layers of complexity. As the name implies, with one sip you will be unable to turn back. This 2010 special release will age well for years to come, or enjoy now in good company. Cheers!

Jet black, small dark brown head. Intense woody, boozy, vanilla bourbon nose. The bodynis thick and quite nice, with low carbonation. Flavor is quite sweet, light notes of soy and cocoa with touches of burnt malts. Problem is the bourbon barrel just takes over and punches you in the face. A nice stout, but the barrell over powers.

Bottle picked up from Getränke Wallbruch, Wetzlar, Hesse and consumed at home Sunday 30th October 2022 listening to Dexys Midnight Runners - Too Rye Aye (2022 re-release as it should have sounded), we had homemade Ravioli for tea. Pours black with a light tan head. The nose is rich in coffee and bitter chocolate. The taste is quite bitter and roasty, and the chocolate and coffee theme returns along with bitter cocoa and perhaps a hint of liquorice, the bourbon barrel ageing is noted but not overpowering, not much in the way of sweetness, which is nice but overall I was left a little bit disappointed. Pleased that I was given this for free at the getrankemarkte as it was no longer on their system.

Foamy tan head stayed on near black still body. Huge bourbon aroma with raisin & malt. Medium to full bodied, smooth, creamy & clean on the back. Dark chocolate, bourbon, raisin & fruity berry tastes with a long tangy finish. 2017 bottle - this has matured so well - Excellent.

Smak och doft av bitter mörk choklad, kakao, bourbonfat, ekträ med rostade toner och salmiak. Krämig, torr med en aning kärv eftersmak. Gott!

Sampled at Borefts Beer Festival 2019, day 2. Opaque black color, small beige to light brown colored head. Aroma is malts, bourbon notes, chocolate, vanilla in the exact right amount. Absolutely delicious. Flavor is delicious too: malt, dark malts, chocolate dark chocolate, moderately bitter. Lovely. Full body, average carboantion that realy suits the beer. Lovely. Winner of the festival for me I think.
