An orange beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is skunky with notes of both malt, brewing syrup, and corn. The flavor is sour corny with a light caramel touch and the end is dry. The body is thin.

Can. Frothy white fair fully deminishing head. Pale yellow colour. OK slightly hoppy aroma. Week slightly bitter flavor, Short metallic finish. Watery palate. Not a good pale lager.

Can 33 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup. Comes as "Castello Birra Lager Premium". Pours a clear golden with a white head. Malty nose. Medium body, heavy carbonation, some malts with an edge of cardboard. Dry finish. 110110

Bottle 33 cl Clear, pilsener golden with basically no head. Sweetish aroma of malt and brewing cereal. Thin and watery body with sweetish, malty accents - perhaps a bit of caramel. Accents of overripe fruit with an oxidized and tired touch. No bitterness. 4/2/3/1/6=1.6 280906

Canned. Golden colour, small white head. Barnyard in aroma, along with hops. Flavour is diacetylic, paprery and skunked hops. Unpleasantly sweet. Mouthdrying, yet the palate is watery.

Bottle. Sweet-sour malt aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Slight sour corn/barley malt flavor. Not much body. Pretty standard pale lager.

I didn’t think this was all that bad. Clear straw body, thin off-white head. The aroma and flavor were pretty typical Bohemian pilsener, with earthy, spicy hops and biscuity malts as a backdrop. Granted, the beer was light and rather weak, but it was a smooth sip and had decent flavor.

2004 bottle. Medium yellow, light copper, poor white head with little retention. Smells of wood glue, sawdust. Flavor is light malt sweetness, corn syrup. A little bit of fizzy bitterness and then a sour end. As it warms, it grows syrupy sweet. Medium-light body, moderate to high carbonation.

Pale body, slightly grassy aroma. Light bready malts, grassy hop. Slightly more bitter than a typical Italian lager but that's no big thrill (wow, 20 IBUs!). Off-dry finish. All that crap about this kind of beer being good on a hot day is just that - crap. I sampled this sitting in the hot sun at the cottage, on the beach overlooking Georgian Bay and it still did nothing for me.

Simple aroma, within a mass lager aroma, unmalted wheat and hay. Dry, easy drinkable, decent body strength, strong bitterness. The palate is a just too bitter. Not bad for a cheap drink.
