Bulldog is an award winning strong ale that was first brewed for the export market in 1947. The traditional recipe and maturing process of "warm conditioning" which takes place after fermentation, has been deliberately retained to preserve the strength and quality. The beer is dry hopped and the distinctive mellow flavour of Bulldog Strong Ale allowed to develop slowly.

Pours a clea ramber color, topped with a medium sized white head. Malty aroma, with some mild presence of fruity notes. Taste is sweet and malty, medum bitterness and some presence of alcohol. Not a bad one, but not that good either.

Bottle @ home, gift from my uncle Ino. Clear orange golden color, medium sized white head that lasts for a decent while. Smell and taste malts, a hint of dark fruit, lightly sweet, a hint of bitter. Decent body and carbonation. Ah well, it’s decent enough.

Bottled, 0.33l. Pours clear orange golden with thin tan-like head and lively bubbles. Aroma of caramel malt, vanilla, dried fruits, herbal hops and with light alcohol note. Taste starts with sweet and rich malt, then followed sour grassy and refreshing fruity. Mouthfeel is dry, although some piney spiciness is felt, too. Aftertaste is strong hoppy. Medium to full body, thick texture and lively carbonation in palate. Good doggy beer...

Bottle from B&M Bargains; clear amber pour with big foamy white head, syrupy sweet aroma, taste is initially sweet very syrupy some maltiness that is struggling to break past the caramel sweetness only 89p so bang per buck is pretty damn good.

Head and color ok. Aroma: some unrefined crude malty/graininess that gets worse as it warms up; and a bit of alcohol. The taste has the slight hint of alcohol and is dry and bitter first; as it warms up it gets sweeter and has a vienna/marzen-style bitter-sweet character, but with that crude cereal scent too. Unpleasant beer.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Rotem’s place. Thanks zvikar. Clear deep golden-amber. Aroma of a bit of malt, a bit of acetone and a bit of caramel. Flavor has a bit of malt sweetness and bitterness, slightly earthy with something weird and a bit of alcohol. Medium-bodied.

33 cl bottle. Clear light amber with one finger creamy offwhite head. Flowery nose. Good amount of sweet malts and lots of peppery hops. Unbalanced, starts sweet and sticky and finish into a massive bitterness, but the finish is long. Noticeable alcohol and syrup. Thick and oily, heavy.
