Saranac Pale Ale is a classic English Pale Ale brewed with six specialty malts and aggressively-hopped with hand-selected English Kent Goldings & Fruggles hops. Look for a rich fruity hop bouquet. A copper amber color and a smooth, full-flavored taste with a crisp finish that only comes from a genuine top fermented ale. Enjoy!

Thanks, Jacob, for the bottle!
It pours a deep golden colour with a very firm 1" head of foam that leaves excellent lacing behind.
The smell is on the sweetish side with just a bit of some bitterness noticeable to my nose.
The taste does a good job of representing an EPA. Nice sweetish notes from the malt...not earthy nor grainy, just a pleasant sweetness. The hops show up mostly in the finish where it gets a tad bitter but overall, a very enjoyable brewski.
On the light end of medium bodied, good carbonation, this is a well brewed beer. I like.

Brassy amber with a whipped tan head. Stale caramel aroma. Taste is again, a stale, grainy bitter. Herbal hops, leafy. Not pleasant, exactly.

Can (bb 3/14). Clear copper with a large white head. Biscuity aroma with mandarins and tinned peaches, some spices. Rather stale biscuit/ caramel sweetness. Dryish and a little peppery at the end. There’s not a heap of bitterness but it manages to be a little crude.

Drank several from the bottle and in shaker. Crisp malt on the palate with a slightly bitter finish. Nothing outstanding, but a decent beer.

A can I picked up at Antenna America. It poured a nice orange copper color with a thick head. The aroma was a dank aroma... I think it was what I have heard referred to as catpiss... the flavor is malty, bitter mid mouth with a funky finish. After warming up a bit that aroma dissipated and it was more of a neutral hop bitterness.

Taste: malty, bit sour, bready, bitter hops, some citrus fruits, floral notes. Aftertaste: bready, bad malts, grains, sour citric touch, walnuts, some grapefruit and some passion fruit. Not convinced.

I actually quite enjoyed this beer. Taste has an interesting hops mix - the two varieties make for a good interplay of sensations. Smell is fruity almost, a little malt as well. The body is medium with a little extra, some thickness to the texture that makes for a pleasant drink. Not overcarbonated. Definitely drink again.
