Pumphouse Pale Ale is named after the local landmark in Battersea Park. An English style Pale Ale with a balanced sweetness and hop character, late hopped with Wakatua to give a pleasant floral, and light spice aroma.

0.5l bottle. This is a crystal clear golden one with a medium sized quite lacing and bubbly white head. It seriously smells like lemon turd this! Also a bit like lemon vaskemiddel often used at children schools. Citrus, Jamaican jerk and green peppers. Something completely different from what I was expecting, and that's often a really good thing! A fresh and actually quite good aroma. It has a thin oily mouthfeel and a average carbonation level. Again fresh citrus flavors in the taste. A good hoppy bitterness, almost Americanized in a way, lots of citrus zest, some fruity tones and traces of flour. Yeah, this is sessional and a lovely combo of hops. A bit soapy on the finish perhaps, but this is one of the more interesting beers from the somewhat (imo) boring English brewers. 26.04.2013

500 ml bottle, from Vaaland, Bryne. ABV is 4.2%. Golden colour, large white head. Aroma of grassy and citrussy hops, with some unusual and interesting spicy notes in the background, also a hint of tobacco. The flavour is fairly dry, with distinct hops throughout, herbal and spicy notes, ending in a little fruity sweetness. .

500ml bottle: best before 20 Aug 2013. Poured into a UK pint sleeve at home on 2 Apr 2013. Light amber to dull golden body with carbonisation bubbles rising towards a swiftly reducing head of white foam. Yet another golden brew with citrus notes running straight through it, were my first thoughts: they however changed as I drank the beer. Crisp, refreshing and fairly bitter, the citrus feel getting less and less, with the bittering hops taking over from the aromatic ones once you get into the pint. This is a complexed brew and although I’m tiring of citrus based golden beers this is a lot better than most. --- Beer merged from original tick of Pumphouse Pale Ale on 05 Jan 2019 at 11:51 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7. Original review text: 3rd Jan 2019; cask, hand-pulled half-pint at The Crown Inn, Oakengates, Shropshire. Golden bodied ale with a white, lasting head. Floral aroma with a spice twist, the taste appeared to have a cinnamon flavour, a strange one all round, but I enjoyed it.

A golden beer with only a weak and blond head. Aroma is mild, but nice, fruits, berrytoffee, some citrus and wood. Taste starts with a nice bitterness, biscuits, wood, hint of toffee and lemon. Unfortunately, the aftertaste is very musty. Almost medium bodied, fresh to drink with balanced carbonation. Not very succesfully beer for my opinion, more freshness would be needed, the medium quality beer.

Medium offwhite head. Clear yellow body with carbonation. Light mealy citric aroma is very faint. Dry orange zest and gooseberry taste with spicy wooden notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dry, slightly salty, resiny gooseberry aftertaste with papery orangey notes. Nice, full of flavour, and highly drinkable. (0.5l bottle, Meny Oslo City.)

Aroma has lots of toffee, English hops, some hay and distant fruity notes. Flavour has toffee, English hops, some hay, herbal notes and some citrus. Too much English toffee here.
