This fine pale ale has citrus and tropical fruit aromatic shared with a well-balanced – yet abundant – hop character. It uses our own Belgian yeast, five malts, two hops, and plenty of patience. Finishing touches include dry-hopping with Cascade hops and warm-cellaring.

Pour is a hazy copper with an average white head. Aroma is yeasty, pils malt and spicy hops. Flavor is dry malts with a nice hop in the backround and a fresh fruit burst toward the end. Of all the Belgian pale ales\ipa’s i’ve had this year this is probaby one of the best. Very flavorful and fresh.

Draft. Amber beer with a nice cream colored head. Yeast and light estery aroma. Yeast and light spice flavor with light esters. Medium bodied. Light spice and yeast lingers with light malt.

Draft at Hopleaf. Hazy golden tan. Thick, creamy white head. Hoppy, astringently sweet Belgian yeast aroma. Creamy and rather surprisingly malt centered, considering the aroma. Yeasty, quite a nice balanced BPA. Sweet, almost nutty at times, almost Tripel-like at others. Well done.

bottle - Pours hazy golden-orange with a big, lasting head that laces well. It smells of lightly spicy Belgian yeast and hops with a little citrus. The flavor is malty up front with yeasty, citrusy tones and ample hops that soon take over. The hops contribute to a fairly dry finish. This medium bodied brew is lively on the palate and good though definitely not my favorite from this excellent brewery.

750 ml. Gold body with orange highlights, hazy. Frothy, white head, mostly diminishing. Aroma of toasted grain, hay, flowers, perfume, citrus, orange and earthiness with a hint of mustiness. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. The finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter and lightly acidic. Medium body, creamy texture and fizzy carbonation. Pleasant aroma, but a disappointing flavor — especially a strong perfume note in the finish. Slight sour twang in the finish, too, along with the soapiness. Overly fizzy mouthfeel.

Had several times now and its a decent addition to Ommengang lineup. Pours a hazy orange with pretty white lacing head. Taste is yeasty with spiced malt, pineapple, clove and finishes dry. doesn’t blow me away but something about it draws me back

Aroma: The nose is yeasty, some spice notes, a bit of floral, and some grass notes
Appearance: It pours a hazy golden color with a quite lacy white head a top it
Flavor: The taste has a yeasty sweetness, with spice mats, and balancing bitterness
Palate: This beer drinks rather nicely, smooth, long spice finish to close it out
Overall Impression: This is a pretty nice beer. Another very solid Belgian style offering from the guys from Ommegang. These guys really do a good job of making Belgian style beers at an American brewery.

750 mL bottle from Wine warehouse in Charlottesville, VA, on 4/29/10. Pours a hazy orange color with a large frothy white head. Fair head retention and good lacing. Aroma of big citrus hops with some floral notes along with a bit of caramel and bread. The taste is very hoppy as well with lots of tropical, spicy, resiny and floral notes, as well as some pineapple and some yeasty, bready notes. Something tart and citrusy, that reminds me a bit of asian cuisine. Medium bodied. Interesting beer.

Approx 12 oz draft pour at The Beer Bistro in Chicago, Illinois. Pour is a ruby golden, mostly clear with a one inch white head. Aroma of Belgian perfume spice clove yeastiness, along with some citrus hops. Taste is a nice blend of apricot citrus hops and the soft perfume clove Belgian yeast. Malt is around, but certainly in the background. Nice balance, clean taste. Palate is thin to medium, soft natural carbonation and a long yeasty aftertaste. Nice.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow golden with a large frothy white head that lasts awhile leaving good sticky lacing. The aroma is a fruity malt with yeast and coriander. Thin mouthfeel with a spicy hop with pepper and lemon zest. Easy to drink, a good Belgian ale from Ommegang.
