Manchester Beer & Cider Festival 2016. Black in colour. Strong tasting but its roasted malts provide a decent enough aroma and taste.

Cask, gravity NWAF, Manchester in company of Dad, Pauline and Baz 20.01.12 Pours black with some lonely bubbles clinging to the edge of a pitch black hole. This is fruity & tasty, big on bitterness, warmth from the alcohol, drinking easier than it should. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Third-pint of this strong beer pulled from cask at GBBF 2011. Clear and bright surface to a jet black body. Dark malty nose added by anise. Comprehensive taste profile of dark caramel, bready malts, chocolate, and even a note of coffee. Some peaty hints as well. Feels flat in the mouth. Good, but heavy to drink ( Earls Court, London 02.08.2011).

Cask @ GBBF, 2011. Pours black with a creamy head and lacings. Roast, fruit, ashes and espresso - complex and nice. Oily, slick and roasted. Some liquorice and a bit of warmth from alcohol. Smooth. Nice.

Cask at GBBF 2011. It pours opaque black, with a thin bubbly tan head. The nose is treacle, molasses, polish, liquorice, sesame seed, soy sauce and parma violets. The taste is roasted malt, dark cherry, rich-roast coffee, wood, soy sauce, sesame seed, liquorice and smoke, with a rich roasted finish. Fully body, sticky mouth-feel and low carbonation. A very flavoursome British imperial stout.

Cask at GBBF 2011. A black coloured pour with virtually no head to speak of. Nice roasty, coffee, chocolate aroma. Tastes sweet, malty, hints of both chocolate and coffee, slight bitterness. Bloody good rich tasting stout, I want more of this!
