Cask handpull at Gbbf 2011. Black no head. Choc aroma touch of acidity. Fullish in mouth. Good severe porter. Good dryness. Decnet strong beer hides the alcohol well. Some ginger on the heat. Do I like it? Its good. Wolud drink it again. Good grainy dryness on finish

Cask @ Royal Oak, Twerton. Dark brown. Cask head. Sort of charred fruit stuff on the nose. Malty, light chocolate with hints of nuts. Only a hint of the strength. Nice brew, maybe with roasted bitterness in the finish.

Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival. Last of the cask! Opaque black beer - brown edges. Residual tan head. Light dry palate. Mild dark malt, quite sweet with an unusual (for the style) taste of dry bubblegum! A little fruitiness. Trace of lactose. Mild warmth in the semi dry finish. Alright.

Cask. A black beer with no head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and soy sauce. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of roasted malt combined with medium notes of soy sauce, leading to a dry and bitter finish. Nice.

Cask at NWAF, 2011. Black pour with a beige head. Licorice, toffee and caramel aromas. Licorice, some dark chocolate, black treacle flavours with some light coffee notes. Huge alcohol burn. Dry, smoky finish.

Cask, Ship and Mitre, Liverpool. Near enough black in colour with a mid sized tan head. Nose had plenty of roasted character with some coffee and dark fruit notes. Sweetish taste, with similar elements to the nose. Warming booze hit kicked in towards the finish as did some bitterness. Really pretty tasty stuff. Well done. .

Cask. Pours an opaque black with a small beige head. Lightly tart and fruity nose with hard roasted or even burned malt accents. Quite full-bodied, hard roasted malt, dried fruit and then again an underlying slight fruity tartness. Some bitterness from the malts in the finish. 210110
