Cask gravity at the Watford beer festival 2014. Dark brown with ruby red highlights and a loose tan head. Aroma is dark jammy fruit, dark choc and sweet plum and fig. Flavour is strawberry and black berry jam, smooth dark choc, little bit of ash and wood. Lingering berry and chocolate malt. Palate is medium full, highish carbonation. Pretty smooth and tasty.

Cask. Looks very dark, with ruby tinges. A foamy beige head leaves a bit of lacing. Aromas of milk chocolate, hint of coffee, dark fruits. Taste- more chocolate and cocoa, dry roasty quality, liquorice, blackcurrant. Medium to full mouthfeel. Very nice.

Bottle, Christmas gift from Alan. Black body with a medium beige head that holds well. Excellent lacing. Aroma of smoked wood, coffee and tobacco. Flavour of fig, nuts, earth, black coffee and a zip of sharp plum. Medium body with a sticky mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. A smooth, tasty English Porter - I was pleasantly surprised by this one.

Dobre wrazenie pozostawia ten porter o ciemnym i intensywnie czarnym kolorze. Piana gigantyczna puszysta i dobrze uformowana. Osad na dnie calkiem spory. W smaku sporo czekolady, ciut karmelu i chmielowy wytrawny finisz. Elegandzko skomponowane.

A colabrown beer with a big, almost creamy and beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roastiness, hint of liquirice, lactose and red berries. Nice and unique aroma that inspirate to taste. Taste of roased malts, black coffee, some chocolate, also some bitterness. An aftertaste is dry and roasted, but not burned. Ligh+ bodied, mild carbonation, quite smooth to drink. Succesfull Porter with nice complexicity and lots of taste.

Bottle from Tomlinson’s, Inverness 091212
Dark brown, frothy tan head with reasonable lacing
Aroma - Soft roasted malts, touch of coffee grounds, little woody
Taste - Roasted malts, dark caramel toffee malts, some burnt crust, bit of charcoal, dab of bitter chocolate, some coffee grounds, touch of dark fruity malt in the background
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, fairly smooth texture. Finish fairly dry, burnt roast, woody, some lingering burnt roast and dark coffee grounds, tad rough
Overall - Finish is rather overburnt which spoils the main flavour . I do remember this being good on cask so this was a bit disappointing
