Dark, chestnut beer whose bitter chocolate and roast malt taste from the large dose of roast barley added is softened by the addition of rich Ruby Port, combining the hoppy pepperiness from Phoenix and Bobek with vinous alcoholic fruitiness.

Dark brown to black color, poor head. The aroma is mild, nice, with a cheesy yeast. Normal Stout, dryish, with just roasted malt, its harshnees and bitterness rising at the end. Not too interesting.

Dark color, generous thick head. Pleasant roasted malt nose; yeast. Dry mouth-feel, dominated by the roasted malt, with hints of coffee and chocolate; liquorice; too much carbonation. Dry-bitter final, also dominated by the roasted malt. The driest among the stouts I tasted.
Can you find the Ferreira Port in it?

A pitch black beer with a fine head. It has a nice aroma of smoked malt with hints of liqurice. The flavor is a very filling stout flavor with a strong smoked taste. A very fine stout.

Near black with dense beige head. Vinous nose with loads of licorice. Sweetish, roasty and complex with long bitter finsih.

Ruby-brown colour; the head is making hoodoos - awesome! Aroma of port, roast barley, nuts, black cherries; palate is smooth and rich, leading to intense roastiness. The sweet port comes in late and cuts the roast off just before it overwhelms. Surprising depth of fruitiness. This is a former champion winter beer of england, and it's not hard to see why. I had it on a sunny 26C afternoon and it was rockin'.
