Dark, chestnut beer whose bitter chocolate and roast malt taste from the large dose of roast barley added is softened by the addition of rich Ruby Port, combining the hoppy pepperiness from Phoenix and Bobek with vinous alcoholic fruitiness.

Leicht ins süßlich-dunkel gehende. Schwer. Der Nachgeschmack ist langanhaltend - hefig-mild und röstmalzig-intensiv.
Gut abgewogenes Herbe-Süße-Verhältnis. Interessantes, aber auch sehr leckeres Bier! --> 13+10+13+13 = 12,40

A sweet stout, with more the former rather than the latter, but it is very black as you would expect. No head with a sweet aroma.

Cask at the William Webb Ellis (JDW), Twickenham, 16/02/13. First beer of the day we finally beat the crowd stealers (Tigerscum) at the Stoop for the first time in 10 years - happy days ... I digress. Very dark mahogony brown with a frothy tan head that retains well. Nose carries roast malt, barley, sugars, molasses, subtle berry fruit. Taste comprises dark toffee, dark malt, wood, nutty tones, berry fruits. Medium in body with soft carbonation, dry in the finish. Ok stout - nowt too special!

On cask @ Bottle of Sack, Sutton Coldfield - Very deep ruby-amber coloured, mid-sized, stable creamy tanned head, dry roasted malt, dark malt and a subtle fruitiness in the nose; solid dry bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; dry, light bitter, roast malt and coffee-ish finish.
