On tap at GLB, pours a clear dark amber brown with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out bready malt, toasted malt, and a hint of caramel. Flavour has bitter resinous hops, bready notes, and pine. Nicely bitter, with a good malt backbone. Really good.

Canned 473ml. -courtesy of and shared with Domagoj from Pivoteka. Out of BBE date for who knows how long because of unreadable print. Dark amber coloured, medium sized tan head, malt and caramel in the nose. Malt and caramel dominates in taste as well with notes of apples and touch of wood. Rather sweet finish. Not the freshest taste here but it could be even worse.

Sampled from a 473 ml can this beer poured a dark brown color with tan highlights and a huge creamy beige head that lingered forever and left excellent lacing. The aroma was gritty floral and fruity hops. The flavor was bitter, toasty, malty and had a moderate floral hop presence. Medium length hoppy finish. Medium body. Ok.

Poured from 473mL can. Mahogany brown with off white beige head. Citrus and grassy hops with subtle apple. Quite a dry finish.

Can. Pours clear hazel, large puffy tan head, dissipates slowly, nice clumpy lacing. Aroma is citrus, pine, grapefruit, roasty malts, bread, perhaps a note of coffee. Flavor is light plus sweet, light bitter, pine, grapefruit, toasted bread, a note of toffee. Medium body, high carbonation. Nice brown IPA.

473ml can from an LCBO in Toronto, ON. A mahogany brown pour with a billowing tan head - not what I was expecting - it says Pale Ale on the tin; a pleasantly hoppy aroma though with lots of pine; and a crisp fresh woody taste of a sweet, rather thin, malty body; and leaving a moreish bitter finish and a bitter chocolate aftertaste. The "Black IPA" category probably didn’t exist when this beer was created, but it would fit well there.
