Another spectacular tripel from Belgium. Pours with mile high pillowy head, spicy aroma and spicy/bitter taste. One of my favorite styles, and a another winner from Belgium.

33 cl bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu. Rated on 22.05.2010
Aroma has citrus, orange peel and Belgian yeast. Flavour is somewhat sour and tart orange, citrus and earthy notes. Also some distant floral notes. Stinging alcohol on some sips. Rich and solid tripel, not as good as St. Bernardus Tripel though.

Refrigerated 11.2 oz. brown bottle poured into a trappist glass. Pours translucent golden with lots of yeast. Thin/medium small bubble lacing, medium carbonation, thin/medium body, and nice fruity aroma. Taste is estery, fruit (mostly lemon with some banana), bready, some yeast, some pale candy sugar, and finishes rounded herbal hops.

This smells really boozy. Looks dirty white blond. Has a definite honey and oak vibe to it. Reminds me of Barbar Honey. Really different from a lot of the more traditional tripels. Good, but different. Like a mix between a honey beer and a triple. Glad to find this one.

Dec 2009: Brown bottle, best before 23 Jul 2012, poured into the correct glass. The beer came from the famous fridges in the Brouwerhuys, (the brewers house) the beautifully appointed B&B next door to the brewery. Highly recommended as a place to stay if you ever get the chance to visit that area of Belgium. This review was done while sitting at the huge round table in the guest lounge, no better place on earth to drink St Bernardus beers! The glass held a hazy, golden orange beer, a large foaming, creamy white head sat on top. The aroma given off were complexed and diverse, pepper, lemon zest, corriander, cloves and bread dough. All those but with a beery undertone as the alcohol esters mingled around them. Sweet, yet acidic taste, a master blend of all thing good about Belgian beers and St Bernardus in particular. Very drinkable in every sense of the word.

330 ml bottle into signature chalice, best by 10/25/2013. Pours very cloudy golden amber color with a fairly dense 1 finger white head with good retention that reduces to a thin cap. Some slight spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of lemon, apricot, banana, clove, biscuit, bubblegum, candi sugar, herbal spice, and some yeast funk. Decent aromas that are a bit muted. Taste of lemon, banana, bubblegum, clove, biscuit, candi sugar, herbal, floral, and yeast spices. Lingering notes of clove, banana, citrus, candi sugar, and yeast spices on the finish for a bit. Much more fruity than it is spicy. A touch on the dry side for a Tripel. Good flavor balance and decent complexity. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy and very smooth mouthfeel. Very easy to drink. Alcohol is almost invisible with almost no warming noticeable on the finish. Overall this is definitely a very nice, well balanced, and drinkable Tripel. I have to admit that I expected a lot more from St. Bernard on this one though.

33cl bottle. Murky golden colour with a creamy but mostly diminishing white head. Nice lacework on the glass. Aroma is moderate yeasty, has citrus hints and slightly sweet. Flavour has belgian yeasty notes, moderate alcoholic, sweet at the beginning with a final moderate bittery with an average duration. Carbonation is medium to lively. Body is medium to high.
