Bottle. Pours a dark reddish amber color with a large creamy off-white head. Slightly roasted malty aroma with some very weak hints of caramel and chocolate. Roasted malty bitter caramel flavor. Fizzy roasted malty caramel finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

Clear brown in color. Slightly sour, malty, caramel, and some chocolate. Finish is slightly bitter and cocoa. Thin body. Pretty boring but it is easy to drink.

Dark brown color, caramel and spice in the nose. Slightly sour, caramel, milk chocolate in the mouth. Caramel raisin finish. This would be better if it just wasn’t so sour.

Canned. Dark brown color, short head. Aroma of some roasted malt, bit caramel, slight chocolat. Mlaty taste, bit sweet. Actually not bad for a canned beer.

Bottled 0,33l. Dark red brown coloured. A creamy head. Rich malty aroma and a sweet bitter flavour. Ending in a sweet way. Thanks to Rune for the lunch invitation and the beer.

Some beers and food at a late lunch gathering with Finn and Catweazle during Die Stadezeit. A 330ml bottle of this Swedish yule beer came first and stood forth in a clear, red-brown coloured body with a moderate brownish head. Malty aroma with notes of plums. Balanced flavour of roasted grain with taste of dry bitterness in the ending. Rounded mouthfeel (28.12.2006).

(50 cl can from Swedish Systembolaget) Sweet scent, not much else. Clear red color, tan head. Dry roasted a bit metallic and buttery taste. Papery and stale aftertaste. Cardboard oxidated taste. Astringent bitterness.

A deep red beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also a slightly dusty hoppy note. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and ryebread, as well as light notes of licorice. The end is dry.

Canned. Dark ruby red colour with beige mediumsized head, which disappears quite fast. Aroma is like sweaty socks at first, but after the beer has settled for a short while you can tell sweet malts with some spicy and roasted hints. Flavour is strong hops, but at the same time plummy and some roasted malts. Aftertaste mainly hoppy, with also some weak roasted malts. Positive surprise from Spendrups!

Can (BB 04/2006)
Ruby red, small tan head. Roasted, spicey, pleasant aroma. Malty, roasted flavor, long roasted, a bit hoppy aftertaste. Balanced roasted malts, complex enough and certainly one of the better Spendrups brews.
