When we make our annual pilgrimage to the hop-growing hotbed of Yakima Valley, we're like kids in a candy store. We eyeball the hops on the lines, crush them in our hands and rub them til their oil fill the air. LolliHop brings together three of our favorites. Dry-hopping with Citra and Mosaic layers in notes of orange, grapefruit, and melon, while Azacca in the kettle adds hints of papaya and pineapple. Locally harvested rustic pale malt provides the backbone, and wheat and oats make this beer silky smooth with a touch of haze.

Pours hazy gold into an English pint. White head with little retention recedes to skim surface. Orange and mango aromas. Soft with mango and melon upfront turning to orange creamsicle before the medium length earthy peel finish.

Sample at Bob's Bar. The beer is a slightly cloudy bright gold color with a medium white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing. Aroma of grassy hops, citrus and malt. Medium body with flavors of herbal hops, grapefruit and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a citrusy hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

16 ounce can. Hazy honey gold pour. Frothy beige head. Sweet herbal hop nose. Bready malt backbone leads to a sweet citrus hop flavor. Notes of melon and citrus candy.

Grass and cat pee nose. Hazy golden, medium head, nice lace. Grass with light grapefruit underneath. Oddly sweet. Medium body, soft carbonation.

Pours a slightly hazy straw from a can, little head with nearly no lacing. Nice big fruity and citrusy aroma, similar flavor. A little mentholy effect in the mouth. Very good beer.
