500ml can. (As Paulaner Pils) Pours a crystal clear gold with a medium, frothy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves soapy curtains of lace. Mild aroma of bready pale malt and grassy hops. Sweet flavour of biscuity pale malt, lemon rind, grass and spicy hops in a crisp, dry, bitter finish. Light body with a watery texture and average carbonation. Clean, refreshing and quaffable.

0.5 can. . Import version. Crystal clear light yellow-gold color, weak white foam. Fine Bavarian light malt aroma, sweet, with a little pine resin. A real German drinking beer. As usual, we're fine with it. It also has some Pilsen hop bitterness, it was quite delicious. You can drink "any amount" of it...

On tap at The Gnome. Pours a clear yellow gold with a white that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has has lots of hay and straw with some sweetness and a bit of grass underlying. Flavor has lots of straw and hay with a touch of sweet grass in the finish.

.5 l can, sent by Paulaner for comment. Frankly, it does the job. Presents a style that's hard to duplicate, harder to import and to stay good. In a pilsener flute, it's a bright straw-to-gold color, with a slight stream of bubbles feeding a puffy head. My nose is none too delicate right now, but I start to notice the slightly peppery noble hop, and the basic beer smell of years past. Stands as a good version of the style. Again, some noble hop up front, then a slightly malty taste. All this lightness makes it hard to stand up and beg for more points, but this is good.
