The dark Frydenlund Bayer is a full-bodied beer with a roasted malty and nutty taste and a well-balanced bitterness. The aroma is characterised by freshly baked whole grain bread, hay and nuts.

(Re-rated) 330ml bottle. Clear amber body with a nice off-white head. Aroma is strong sweet malty with traces of caramel. Flavor is dominated by malt, some caramel and hint of bitterness. Nice and refreshing, plain lager. The biggest drawback is a thin and watery body.

From tap at Rødbrygga, Stokmarknes, Norway 16 Jun 06. Brown red colour. Small creamy head. Malty aroma. Sweet malty taste leaving a dry bitter aftertaste. A nice beer in very nice surroundings.

Two 500ml glasses from tap while watching Hammers and another team in the FA cup final on TV at Rødbrygga, Stokmarknes. Appealing clear and deep golden brown in colour. Quickly disappearing foam. Aroma and flavour of grain, dark caramel and malt. Short finish. Too carbonated. Served far too cold (13.05.2006).

Small, white, coarse head; brown body. Faint aroma of roasty caramel and some grain. Grainy, watery taste of caramel and straw, and something else that shouldn’t be there. Hardly any aftertaste. Very disappointing. A bayer should taste more than this, and the off flavour is disappointing, too.

Bottled, alc. 4.5% (BB 08/2006)
Copper-brown, small tanned head, some lace. Sugary, ryeish, hints of diacetyl. Malty, light-bodied, a bit sugary, buttery flavor. All the flavors disappear quickly, boring and slightly unclean.
