500 ml bottle. Cloudy dark amber colour, decent beige head. Bread, cereal, malt, some grapes, banana, hazelnut and caramel. Yeasty, malty, slightly sour. Creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonated, medium bodied. Grainy finish. Overall reminds me of a crossover of a Dunkelweizen and a Dampfbier. Liquid bread.

Pours light mahogany into a Sam glass. Pancake head with good retention recedes leaving scant sheets. Caramel and biscuit aromas. Soft with caramel and dry earthy leaves front to back.

Kornthal-munchingen. Shared from bottle courtesy of Michael, vielen dank. Dark brown with cream head. Grains. Rye bread, and light caramel, raisins, dates, chestnuts. Medium sweet and light bitter. Murky brown with little beige head. Aroma is strawberry, phenols, butter, dried fruit, maybe chocolate, caramel, some hoppy stuff. Taste is quite full sourness with a large amount of butter and herbs, also quite tart with some slightly phenolic sweetness. Pleasant light mouthfeel with maybe a hint too much sourness. Medium smoothness, medium body, not heavy, quite drinkable. Not bad.

La bottiglia è chiusa col tappo a macchinetta e apertura è col botto, un botto impressionante. Il gusto al naso è di orzo, frumento e luppolo. L’intensità olfattiva è elevata e la persistenza olfattiva è sufficiente. Il cappello di schiuma a bollicine medie con carbonazione abbondante ha una buona tenuta e termina con un pizzo sul vetro. La consistenza del liquido è nuvolosa. Le bollicine sono fini, a carbonazione bassa, persistente ed insistita. Il colore è ambrato rossiccio carico tendente marrone, torbido. Il corpo è pieno. L’amaro è medio con un accenno di umami. L’intensità gustativa è normale e la persistenza gustativa è sufficiente. Le sensazioni boccali finali sono lunghe per una birra impegnativa. Il finale è astringente e complesso. Il retrogusto è di media intensità. L’aroma in bocca rimanda a sentori maltosi e di pane, frumento, orzo e fieno.

17.4.16: Rehbraun im Glas, kaum bis keine Perlen, wenig Schaum. In der Nase Malz, leichte Frucht, Kastanien. Im Trunk frisch, malzig, leichte Süße, sehr gut trinkbar, wenn auch etwas zu soft im Charakter. Retest 12.2.23 Wertung erhöht.
