(950ml 2020 edition growler - hops are HBC472, Mosaic and Pacific Jade - from Alimentation L'Impact, Quebec City) Pours rather murky dull orangish with a decent sized white head and good lace. Aroma and flavours are both rich in mixed citrus flesh and zest with a strong punch of sweet Mayer lemon that I think is the gale, moderate notes of resinous fir, green and pink peppercorns, somewhat sweet and rich up front in flavour but finishing off-dry with lots of citrus, resins and peppery herbs giving a long aftertaste and moderate plus bitterness plus some burn that I think is more gale than hops. Slight breadiness but mostly neutral malt. Lightish body, slightly thin but with fairly creamy smooth carb. Interesting brew, the sweet gale really contributes to rather than fighting the hop profile but gives it a depth reminiscent of more resinous west coast days. Really solid and fun 'foraged' IPA.
