Bij Maakun. Op t etiket gaat t over malt, vanille en rokerige smaken. Ik proef vooral zuur en hout. Misschien is-ie geïnfecteerd? 12oz bottle pours a hazy garnet amber with some thin, soapy, white head. Nose is has some wood pulp/chips, earthy with a little dried leaf too, vegetal, bright lemon juice, raisin. Flavor is bright with lemon juice and some apple cider vinegar, some plain apple cider, green apple, raisin, light caramel, some vanillin lurking. Finishes with plenty of acid. Hard to peg this, but it’s sour.

Many thanks for this beer to Erzengel. Deep amber in colour with a slight white head and moderate carbonation. Malty, light fruity aroma. Very sour finish!

Vielen Dank an Erzengel für diese Flasche! Klare orangebraune Farbe, ordentliche beige Schaumkrone. Geruch leicht holzig, Vanille, gering säuerlich, röstmalzig. Geschmack leicht säuerlich malzig, holzig, Eichenholz, unspektakulär!

Bottle shared at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Erzengel for this bHazy amber-brown with a beige head. Aroma of wood, vanilla, fruitiness, malt, a bit of toast. Sourish flavor with malt, toast, wood, fruitiness, a bit of vanilla, and a bitterish finish. Medium-bodied. Don’t know if the sourness is intentional, but I found it to be a pleasant beer. Doesn’t taste like a Dunkel though.

Bottle thanks to Erzengel. Very nice deep amber color with short lasting cream colored head. Light wood, red wine, lots of sour berries, unripe grapes, light funk and hay, sour milk, some butter and nuts. Taste is medium sour with light sweetness. Light to medium bodied. I’m not sure if the sourness is intentional, but it’s quite interesting, though this beer is a bit all over the place. Not really good.

33cl. Nice woody and slightly sourish beginning. Nice oak background on a smooth and dark beer. Sourish woody background, malt, quite dry with dark red fruit. Very interesting with a moderate bitterness in the end. Nice dark fruitiness, fresh and sourish, round and smooth! Very interesting but great!

330ml bottle. Pretty impervious, chocolate bron colour with ruby red glimmer and average, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting and lacing, beige head. Fresh, oaky aroma, hints of shortbread biscuit (Butterkeks) and cigar box. Taste is dry, oaky, minimally tart, cautiously dark malty, very subtle sweetness. Too light a body for really prolific engagement with the predominant oak flavours.

(swing top bottle, 100cl, 4.8% abv) Hazy, dark amber to copper colour with a beige and firm foamy head of medium size. Slightly toasted malty aroma with notes of caramel and a distinctive touch of woody oak chips and loads of vanilla and tanbark. Mildly sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light bodied with a calm carbonation. A bit slim, dry and slightly toasty malt character with caramel, fresh oak, tan and vanilla, also subtle fruity notes and herbal spice in the background; dry and slim malty finish with woody, oaky notes, vanilla and a tannic astringency in the aftertaste, which harms the beer rather than supporting it. Nevertheless a likeable brew. 25.III.14
