Dunkler, wenig säuerlicher Antrunk. Holznoten, trocken hopfig. Im Mittelteil steht ein Karamellaroma im Vordergrund, leicht herb. Eher langweiliger Abgang, holzig, süffig. 12/10/9/9//9

Poured up on tap at Thombansen’s with a clear amber body that has copper hues and supporting a dark tan head of foam and leaving behind some sheet lacing. The light aroma offers up a bit of earthy black licorice sort of hoppiness (that is likely the oak spiciness too) and faint dark roasted malts enhanced yeasty esters. The light aroma took some effort to loosely pin down. The taste is fresh and crisp despite the dark color and offering up a bit of dark roasted malts and spicy oak notes. Between those notes is a slim layer of vanilla mixing with more mild spicy oakiness. Behind the spicy oak I get a bit of cherry like sweet esteriness and then flowing into some hops and more slight oak notes. The hops conjure up a grapefruit like sensation now and then. Nice. This all comes together pretty well for me and I’d be happy to try it again.
