Monday, 1st April 2024; Monthly gathering in Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Five guys with beers to share and stories to tell. I brought along the 75cl cork and caged bottle of this; BB 3rd February 2025, obtained from a large French supermarket last year. Clean golden pour, white top. Nice yeasty, Belgian style strong beer, on the sweet side, but I like that.

75cl bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, April 24. Thanks Jeremy for this! Pours a clear gold until the yeast at the end forms a fine mist, good white head. Noticeably sweet sugary aroma. Pokey sweet flavour profile, more alcohol than fruity Belgian yeast, with a hoppy tingle linger on the tongue. Too sweet overall.

Bottle 75cl. @home poured into stem glass. Hazy deep golden colour, good frothy off-white head, good retention and lacing. Aroma sweet malts, Belgian yeast, peach, banana, bready, coriander. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, malty, orange, pear, coriander, alcohol notes. Medium to full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, sweetbitter aftertaste, alcohol, okay.

opalescent pale golden colour, large, dense white head, which lasts for several minutes; aroma of peach, apricot, wheaty-grainy, slight citrusy and grassy notes; tase of malty-bread crusty, apricot, slight apple, herbal hoppy,slight honey and moderate spicy-peppery notes; really good one

Bottle, 0.33l. Aroma is grainy, grassy, caramelly, honeyish, floral and dusty. Pours cloudy golden color with large soapy white head, good lacing and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts with sweet caramel and toasted malt, following is yeasty and dried fruity, mouthfeel is warm alcoholic, while finish is average grassy bitter.
