The Fire Station 5 beers are brewed by Portland Brewing exclusively for the Fred Meyer grocery store chain. A well-hopped, deep golden ale with a malty, full-bodied taste and refreshing finish. Sip and reflect on long journeys to exotic lands.

Clear amber body with a small frothy off-white head. Sweet caramel aroma. Sweet caramel and malt flavor with a floral hop ending.

Cloudy amber pour. Small, off-white head. Aroma of is sweet with heavy notes of grain and light notes of grapefruit, orange and flowers. Flavor starts sweet and stays sweet. Also taste of flowers and perfume. Light bitterness. Moderate finish. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Drinkable, but the flavors didn’t mesh for me.

12 oz Bottle pours out a amber/yellow topped off with a off white head. A nice hops aroma. But the flavor was a let down not the hops I was hopeing for.

Bottle Pours a very clear bright pale orange witha nice medium sized head. Thick chunky lacing. Lots of effervescence. Decent hop aroma, a bit cardboardy and not so bright and citursy as top notch IPAs. Malty and mildy hoppy flavor combo with a disticnt papery aftertaste. Feel is smooth and rather full bodied for this Fred Meyer IPA. Pleasantly surprised, though my hopes were not hight to begin with.

Amber with beige lasting head, small intense bead.Lightly antiseptic lt hop nose.Starts hops, then very metallic, then citrus with unpleasant bitter end, which isnt from the hops. A very poor effort, wouldn’t have rated it this high except it was a nice looking beer
