Can at home, from an online peddler, 28/05/21. Black with a well presented lasting khaki cap. Nose is dusty hops, light charring, spice, dried fruit rinds, cocoa sprinkle, pine needle. Taste comprises tropical fruit esters, pine needle, dusty hops, light roast, dried red berries, burnt toffee. Medium bodied, fine massaging carbonation, light drying close spiked with balanced lightly resinous hop bitterness. Solid CDA action dished up here !

Can from Gedeelde Vreugde. Hazy black, small, foamy, tan head. Aroma of grapefruit peel, pomegrenate, orange, pineapple, toast, fondant, chestnut. Taste has sweetish orange & pomegrenate, turning towards bitter grapefruit peel, roasted pine & actual toasty maltiness, very slightly chocolatey. Earthy-piney hoppy finish, nicely grapefruity with delicate 'powdery' roasted malts and a soft gin-like alcohol glow. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Thoroughly hopped with supportive roastiness.

Perfect balance of caramel, roast, citrus, tropical fruits and pine for what I like in a BIPA. Really good and a lovely label too 😻 --- Beer merged from original tick of Batcat on 18 Mar 2021 at 00:11 - Score: 8. 440ml Can - Dark brown with a foamy head. Pine, grapefruit, liquorice and fudge in the aroma. Hoppy and slightly soapy taste with grapefruit, orange and liquorice detected. The usual 'darker' notes in a black IPA are not so evident here.

440ml can. Pours black with a decent tan head, good retention. Aroma of chocolate, grapefruit, pine, resin. Taste is very west coast IPA like, grapefruit, pine, resin, slightly herbal, chocolate, coffee/roast, very bitter. Medium bodied.

Can from House Of Trembling Madness. Black body with a thin beige head. Good lacing. Aroma of treacle, caramel, pine and blackcurrant. Flavour of blackcurrant, grapefruit, menthol and ash. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. This is excellent.
