This earthy, brightly acidic mead balances the lingering tartness of whole blackberries and carefully selected honey. Intensely fruity with balanced acidity, a complex flavor profile and an earthy aroma, this mead is reminiscent of picking fruit on a mid-summer day. A strong option for the cellar, blackberry will continue to mature and develop in the bottle for years. Blackberry pairs well with creamy cheeses, duck, and veal. Bottle from De Bierliefhebber. Beautiful blackberry and honey aroma with more dark fruits, blackberry jam. Flavour is sweet and syrupy with some warming booze but not as much as you'd expect.

Clear 375ml bottle from Grapevine B&W. Baby Duvel glass @home. Clear, still, black cherry pour with purple highlights & some weak little legs. Smell is veggie, lush honey, deep grape jam with lots of berry skin astringency & a touch of heat. Taste is tart, non-descript berry upfront with a veggie & citrus honey coated middle, becoming vinous astringent with some marzipan on the long tail before the half-hearted earthy attempt to dry out. Too sweet upfront but nicely balanced on the backside. Wife tastes honey wine upfront & grape juice in the back. The blackberry doesn't give me much besides lovely jam to contemplate. Little to indifferent amount of wax, lush to pithy contrast front to back, low heat. Tasty.

Intense berry notes in the aroma, hints of honey, sweetness and blackcurrant notes. Taste is not as intense as the aroma.

12/17/2020, thick jammy blackberry but mellowed out by two years, not entirely sweet as expected but more wine-like! Slight tannic dryness on a lingering tasty finish. Gorgeous.

Bottle split at Watford Tasting, thanks to the Wingmane, 11/03/22. Rich claret pour with a faded crimson cap. Nose is sweet blackberry puree, honey drizzle, sugars, soft berry fruits. Taste comprises blackberry compote, lockets, honey melt, sugars. Full bodied, oily mouthfeel, semi drying close with a rising kiss of alcohol but well tempered for 14% boost. Solid.
